At Naru, we believe in more than just learning martial arts—we believe in transforming lives. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) offers a unique journey that challenges you physically, mentally, and emotionally. Whether you're an adult seeking a dynamic workout, a teenager looking to develop confidence, or a parent wanting your child to learn self-defense and discipline, BJJ has something for everyone.
At Naru, we believe that sports should be accessible to all children, regardless of financial circumstances. As part of our commitment to the community and to providing opportunities for children to benefit from martial arts training, we are excited to offer a Reduced Membership Program.
This initiative is designed to support families who may find it challenging to afford the full cost of training. Each school year, we will offer 7-8 children the chance to train at a discounted membership fee of up to 50% off, or possibly more depending on individual circumstances. In some cases, children may even be eligible for completely free training.
The reduced fee will be based on the family’s financial situation, and we encourage parents to reach out confidentially to discuss this option. Our goal is to ensure that every child has the opportunity to train, learn, and grow through BJJ, without financial barriers.
We invite parents to contact us directly if they are interested in learning more about this program and whether their child may qualify. All inquiries will be handled with respect, discretion, and sensitivity.

What is Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ)?
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a martial art and combat sport that focuses on grappling and ground fighting. It emphasizes technique and leverage to control and submit opponents, making it suitable for individuals of all sizes and physical abilities.
Who Can Train BJJ?
BJJ is suitable for everyone, including kids, teens, and adults. It offers a unique blend of physical fitness, self-defense skills, and mental discipline. Whether you're looking to improve fitness, learn self-defense, or compete at various levels, BJJ provides a welcoming environment for all ages and skill levels.
What to Wear During BJJ?
The attire for BJJ typically includes a gi (pronounced "gee") or kimono for traditional training and a rash guard and grappling shorts for no-gi training. Here’s a brief explanation of both:
- Gi (Kimono): A traditional gi consists of a jacket and pants made from durable cotton or similar material. It includes a belt that signifies rank and allows for various gripping techniques.
- No-Gi: In no-gi training, practitioners wear rash guards (tight-fitting, moisture-wicking shirts) and grappling shorts (similar to board shorts), minimizing the use of clothing grips and focusing more on body control and speed.
Training All Levels Together
At our academy, we offer classes that cater to all levels—kids, teens, and adults—under one roof. Our curriculum is designed to accommodate beginners through advanced students in the same class. Our experienced instructors ensure that each session includes techniques suitable for everyone, providing individualized attention to help all students progress effectively and safely.
Class Structure
- Adult Classes: Our adult classes typically last 90 minutes, structured with 60 minutes dedicated to drilling techniques and 30 minutes for live sparring (rolling). This format allows practitioners to apply learned techniques in a controlled, live environment.
- Kids and Teens Classes: For younger practitioners, our classes focus on drilling techniques that build foundational skills, coordination, and confidence. These sessions are tailored to engage and educate young minds in a safe and supportive atmosphere.
Gi vs. No-Gi
- Gi (Kimono): Training with a gi emphasizes grips on the jacket and pants, adding layers of strategy and technique involving clothing-based grips, chokes, and submissions.
- No-Gi: Without the gi, practitioners focus on controlling the opponent through body positioning and direct skin contact, enhancing agility, speed, and adaptation to different training environments.

LINDA DOAN
Self-Defence & BJJ Instructor for Women
My journey in martial arts began in 2010 with Muay Thai. Over time, I expanded my experience to include other disciplines, including kickboxing. In 2021, I began focusing intensively on Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, which is now my primary focus within sport.
I hold an official accreditation from the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic as a self-defence instructor and combat sports coach (Category B).
I have developed over a decade of striking experience, including private training with elite athletes and multiple European and World Championship medalists.
Currently, I lead regular Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes for women (16+) every Tuesday and Wednesday, and I run women’s self-defence classes every Sunday. I also contribute to coaching children’s classes, where I focus on building strong fundamentals, discipline, and confidence.
Together with my partner Leo, I also organize self-defence workshops for schools, companies, and non-profit organizations.
I regularly compete in international Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitions and continuously work on my development as both an athlete and a coach.
Outside of the gym, I hold a managerial position in an international company and stay active in other sports, including competing in the second division of women’s football.
My passion is helping others through martial arts—whether for performance, personal growth, or a greater sense of safety.
DIOGO DOS SANTOS FARIAS

Originally from Brazil and currently based in Prague, I am a Brazilian jiu-jitsu purple belt with over four years of competitive experience in both Gi and No-Gi. I regularly participate in regional and international tournaments and continuously work on developing my skills as both a competitor and instructor.
In 2025, I was selected for the American Grappling Federation (AGF) Sponsorship Program in Europe, supporting the development of the BJJ community.
I have experience leading BJJ classes for adults of different skill levels, from complete beginners to more advanced practitioners. My coaching focuses on building strong technical foundations, improving positional understanding, and creating a safe, supportive, and welcoming training environment.
I believe Brazilian jiu-jitsu is not only about physical skills but also about discipline, resilience, and personal growth. My goal is to help students build confidence, challenge themselves, and enjoy their journey in the sport.
LUIS DE MORALES VERA
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Instructor / Sunday BJJ Fundamentals & No-gi (Tuesday)
My journey in martial arts began at an early age with Judo, which laid the foundation for my passion for combat sports. Around 20 years ago, I transitioned to Muay Thai, which I practiced until 2020. Shortly after, I discovered Brazilian jiu-jitsu, which quickly became my main focus and an essential part of my life.
I regularly compete in international BJJ tournaments, including prestigious events organized by the IBJJF and AJP Tour. Competition motivates me to continuously improve my technical skills, mental resilience, and overall performance.
To further develop my knowledge, I regularly attend seminars and masterclasses led by elite athletes, European champions, and World Championship medalists. I believe continuous learning is essential for personal growth and development as both an athlete and instructor.
For me, Brazilian jiu-jitsu is more than just a sport. It is a lifestyle built on discipline, respect, and continuous improvement. My goal is to share my passion with others, helping students build confidence, develop practical skills, and discover the benefits of martial arts.
KALIBEK KIYALOV
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Instructor | BJJ No-gi (Wednesday & Sunday)
I come from Kazakhstan, and my journey in Brazilian jiu-jitsu began in 2022. Before discovering BJJ, I explored various sports, including football, boxing, and karate, as well as music. However, Brazilian jiu-jitsu was where I truly found my passion, inspiring me to continuously learn, improve, and challenge myself.
I am a Brazilian jiu-jitsu blue belt, a UWW World Cup finalist, and a multiple-time medalist at national competitions in Kazakhstan. From 2024 to 2026, I also gained coaching experience as an assistant instructor, helping students develop their technical skills and confidence.
In April 2026, I moved to Prague to pursue my studies and joined NARU BJJ & Self-Defence Academy. I continue to actively compete and develop as both an athlete and instructor.
For me, Brazilian jiu-jitsu is more than just a sport. It is a journey of discipline, perseverance, and personal growth. My goal is to share my passion and experience with others, helping students build confidence, improve their skills, and discover their own potential through martial arts.
